“Tinigom” Set to Premiere at 2024 Sine Negrense: Negros Island Film Festival, Inter-School Category

Updated: 12 minutes ago

Foundation University’s anticipated entry Tinigom is set to premiere in the 2024 Sine Negrense: Negros Island Film Festival, which will run from December 2-6 at the Cinematheque Centre Negros, Bacolod City. Competing in the Inter-School Category, Tinigom promises to deliver a solemn depiction of the modern complexity of family life and economic hardship.

Written and directed by AB Broadcasting student Keith Nemenzo, Tinigom explores the life of young Jane, who lives in a struggling community with her father, Joven, and his friend Jude – both employed as parking attendants in the city. The story unfolds with the steady cadence of Joven and Jude’s hard-earned coins, whose singular clinks symbolize the unyielding hope to secure Jane’s educational future.

The film stars Foundationites John Isic, from the College of Arts and Sciences and Hyna Calderon, from the Department of Fine Arts, together with Ruben Patulin and Andrea Adana, who will play Joven and young Jane respectively.

With a touching portrayal of determination, Tinigom is poised to resonate with the modern Negrosanon and contribute to the festival’s celebration of storytelling as a driver for hope and resilience. The trailer for the short-film was posted on Sine Negrense's official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SineNegrense/videos/1271851220513211.
