Kasadyaan Festival 2024 - Day 2

Day 2 of the Kasadyaan Festival 2024 carries on the momentum of Day 1.

At 3 PM, the motor show revved into high gear. Forty-nine motorcycles and more than a hundred attendees came to celebrate Dumaguete City’s motorcycle culture. Four categories were contested by the registrants:

The Thai Concept category, whose aesthetics are driven by a tangible passion for the Thailand drag racing scene. Most of the contenders boasted high-end, often imported Thai parts, specialty rims and custom, almost sculptural, fairings. Advanced and meticulous engine modifications were also given center stage.

The Malaysian Concept category, with a subtler, no less fervent, take on modification. Custom exhausts and suspensions, precision decals and other visually arresting details made form and function a malleable criteria for the entries on display.

The Open Mix category, which enabled unrestrained and liberated creativity. Participating vehicles, and the myriad of modifications that abandoned its utilitarian roots, turned the pieces into canvases more than machines.

The Big Bike Concept, which focused on larger 250cc+ displacement engines. Power and performance were its arbitrators, with the category emphasizing engine power. Builds included engines that ranged from one to eight cylinders, with varying torque and horsepower.

University President Dean Sinco, also a President of the Kasadyaan Motor Show sponsor Entheos, demonstrated his passion and love for automobiles by becoming involved in the event. His own FJ Cruiser was also spotted on full display by the FU Green grounds.

Around 6 in the afternoon, the patchwork quilt of Kasadyaan booths and concessionaire stalls were lit up. The grounds were quieter, although strikingly busier than the previous day.

The heart of the evening’s fervor was concentrated in the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall, where a Hara sa FU Ball was being held. Invited to the program were among the most important culture and art workers in Foundation University’s history, including:
