Bridging Generations through Football

The current and former varsity players of Foundation University Women’s Football Team held a friendly game at the FU Alumni Football Open Play on July 14, 2024 at the FU Ball Field.

The former varsity players requested to play against the current varsity players to test their skills and impart wisdom to help them improve. Despite both teams giving their best efforts, the former varsity won the game.

The current varsity team considered it a valuable experience as they learned a lot from their seniors. Aurora Rica Jirah Pepino, a varsity player of the FPA Futsal team, said: “I realized that maybe because we are younger, we lack the experience and knowledge of the sport compared to our alumni. Playing against them taught us a lot and I witnessed some amazing skills.”

Chong-an See, a former varsity of Foundation University and currently associated with Rusco Motors Inc., shared an advice to the current varsity players: “Keep playing the way you do, enjoy the game, and make sure you pass on your knowledge to future generations.”

This event not only strengthened the FU football community, but also forged new bonds among past and present players.
