The Science of Movement

Bachelor of Science In Physical Education

The Bachelor of Science in Physical Education is a degree program designed to prepare students for teaching and leadership roles in physical education and sports. It offers a disciplined study of movement sciences, instructional strategies, and physical fitness development, with a strong grounding in both theory and applied practice. The course equips future educators to design, implement, and evaluate physical activity programs that are developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners. It also lays the groundwork for understanding the broader social and educational roles of physical activity in schools and communities.

Motor development and movement analysis, exercise physiology, sports psychology, coaching and officiating, physical activity assessment, and curriculum development for physical education. The program also emphasizes professional ethics, safety practices, and inclusive approaches to physical instruction across varied settings.

  • Graduates may pursue roles as licensed physical education teachers, school-based sports program coordinators, fitness and wellness trainers, community sports facilitators, or movement education consultants. The degree also provides a strong foundation for advanced studies in kinesiology, coaching science, or education.

  • Students receive both academic and field-based preparation, including teaching internships in primary and secondary schools. Coursework is supported by laboratory activities, peer teaching sessions, and training in coaching and fitness program delivery. The program focuses on both individual and team-based physical education methods, with particular attention to inclusivity, health advocacy, and educational leadership in the context of physical activity.
