With the goal to increase self-awareness among the youth and to further inspire students to aim for success, Yamaha Motor Philippines – Foundation University’s new partner, held its campus tour last January 25 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.
The first installment of “Yamaha: Road to Discovery” at Foundation University will begin the year-round campus tour across the archipelago. The said campus tour is the motorcycle-manufacturing company’s current advocacy for the youth to develop self-awareness, embrace imperfections and equip them to step-up in life.
With a pool of celebrity speakers, college and senior high school students heard inspiring talks delivered by Matteo Guidicelli on “The art of finding what you love to do: What matters to you most,” TJ Monterde on “Presenting yourself with confidence: Having a healthy mind” and the event host, Joyce Pring on “Why do you matter? Upping up your self-esteem: Social Media Cleansing.”
Meanwhile, a mini-musicale on developing self-confidence and the importance of self-appreciation was also staged in order to send a message to the youth in attendance.
During the said event, Foundationites who were given the chance to join the Yamaha Safety Riding Science (YSRS) program last January 24 at the North Campus were also recognized as YSRS Ambassadors of FU. The program was meant to initiate discipline on the road for the riders especially among the youth. Aside from that, the select few students were taught on how to ride the motorcycle and on how to drive safely on the road.
Earlier that day, FU and Yamaha visited Batinguel Elementary School to offer supplemental feeding and as well as, give to 100 school children school supplies and toys. This was a joint Corporate Social Responsibility venture of FU and Yamaha in promoting the importance of acquiring education and in a way, giving assistance to school children especially those coming from indigent families.
