This year’s Lutas Film Festival is set to feature 11 films crafted by local filmmakers in Negros Oriental through a free public screening on August 16 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall of Foundation University.

 

Here are the titles of the 11 competing films along with their respective directors: Return to Sender by Kent Michael Jugador and Belle Anseim Ocay; The Darkness Follows by Angelica Gomez; Barkada by Rhobie Ruaya; Dula by Marco Simpao; Budhi – The Voice of Your Soul by Glennifer Krystel E. Gotocano; Bitoy Bayoyoy by Ma. Cristina June T. Grapa; Keeping Up with Relationship Goals by Joevic Christine Baclayanto; Tubod by Geraldyn Acibron; Ang Paglupad ni Maya by Gresheen Gift Libby; Ang Paglimbasog sa Managhigalaay aron Malingkawas by Jetmore Banot, Benzi Florendo, Bruce Imboand Jomar Allan and Lubong by Raoul Andrei Tatel.

 

In retrospect, Lutas began as a brainchild of Foundation University in 2014. At present, it is the recognized annual film festival of Negros Oriental Province and is co-presented by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

 

Lutas Film Festival aims to encourage and develop the culture of storytelling through film. It aims to expose aspiring filmmakers to a wider network of film industry leaders and storytellers in the Philippines.
