Learners from private and public schools all over the country showcased their talents and skills through the National Festival of Talents held Febuary 18 to 23 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall of Foundation University.

Organized by the Department of Education (DepEd), the said activity is aimed to provide opportunity for public and private secondary school learners including those from the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to showcase their talents and skills through exhibitions of their products, services and performances. Also, this will provide opportunity for teachers and learners to explore the culture of the host region.

Themed, “Pagkilala sa Kulturang Filipino Tungo sa Kapayapaan, Pagkakaisa at Pagbabago,” the National Festival of Talents 2018 enjoined the learners to compete in the following areas: Technolympics for Technology and Livelihood Education and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood; Sining Tanghalan for Music and Arts; National Population Development for Social Studies (Araling Panlipunan); Pambansang Tagisan ng Talento for Filipino; and Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL).

Foundation University’s hosting of this endeavor is a testament of its unending support to the promotion and preservation of the Filipino culture and tradition through the arts – inspired by the ideals of its founder father, Dr. Vicente G. Sinco whose superb nationalism was conveyed through his life and work as an educator and visionary.
