As academic year 2017 – 2018 begins in June, Foundation University, welcomes three new deans to complete the roster of key officials who will lead in the advancement of academic programs in the specific colleges and units in the 68-year-old educational institution.

The new deans are as follows: Ms. RD Marie M. delos Reyes to head the College of Hospitality Management (CHM); Ms. Marlene Rosejie G. Sontillano for the College of Nursing and Mr. Norberto P. Riego II, as the Dean of  Office of Student Life (OSL).

Delos Reyes completed her Master of Science in Business Administration, with latin honors, from the University of Bohol where she also worked for 10 years as faculty member and later, program chair at the College of Business and Accountancy. Her recent work engagement was with Metro Dumaguete College as Dean of the Institute of Business and Tourism Management.

Added to her task as Dean of CHM is to oversee the operations of Queue Coffee Shop and she will also manage the Food Development Center and Retort Facility which is a joint project between the University and the Department of Trade and Industry.

Meanwhile, Sontillano, finished her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Central Philippines University (Iloilo City) in 1989 and Master in Nursing from University of St. La Salle (Bacolod City) in 1996.

She worked for 26 years (1990 to 2016) at the College of Pharmacy and Health Allied Programs of the Fellowship Baptist College in Kabankalan City, her place of origin, as a full-time faculty member for the nursing and midwifery programs.

Aside from being a registered nurse, Sontillano is also a registered midwife and holds a National Certificate (NC) II in Caregiving, which entitles her to teach for the K12 program.

Lastly, Riego acquired an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Silliman University in 1981 and is currently pursuing Master of Arts in Education from the same institution. He has worked as Dormitory Adviser for five years and has a deep understanding of student life due to his engagement as an academic achiever and athlete during his college days.

Apart from the job as OSL Dean, Riego will also be responsible in managing the operations of Smeet’s Hall, the University’s dormitory located at the north campus.

Delos Reyes, Sontillano and Riego and their individual academic expertise and past work experiences, will surely contribute to the advancement of the programs and will bring in fresh new ideas and practices for the betterment of the institution.
