A film crafted by a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication graduate bagged the top awards at the Josenian VMA’s and Recoletos Film Festival held last March 26 at SM Seaside, Cebu City.
“Bugas,” a film by Mark Q. Lifana, garnered two awards: best film and best film editing and bested 29 other entries that also competed at the said film festival organized by the University of San Jose Recoletos.
In retrospect, “Bugas” is Lifana’s official entry to Lutas: Negros Oriental Film Fest in 2015 where it also earned recognition. In 2016, the film was exhibited at Cinema Rehiyon 8 held at De La Salle University – Dasmariñas in Cavite.
Lifana recently completed the degree in broadcast communication from Foundation University last March 18.
Film is one of the thrust of Foundation University’s Broadcast Communication Program where students develop their creativity while increasing awareness of the pressing issues in the community.
